Johnny Owens

Johnny is from Hemingway, SC and earned a degree in Electronics Technologies from Horry Georgetown Technical College.  He worked in the irrigation industry before joining Parsons Nursery in 2008.

Why did you choose a career in the horticultural industry?

I have always loved being outdoors and the horticulture industry gives me an opportunity to work outside and tackle new challenges.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Seeing how much everything in the nursery changes day to day durring the growing season.  When conditions are right for plant growth, plants can just explode over night.  Working with some of the best individuals around is great too!

What is your favorite tree, shrub or perennial?

'Autumn Blaze' Maple.
